Poison Apple Punch

HAVE A BITE!

So this drink was made a number of years back for a Halloween party punch. It’s obviously called poison apple punch because it’s made with chilled mulled APPLE cider. The poison was because a few of these will absolutely wreck you. I’m lying, I went with the obvious Halloween apple reference. It is really good though.

On the surface, it looks a lot like the Mulled Cider Mule, but there are a couple of massive differences. For one, I use a dark and spiced rum for a level of depth and funkiness that vodka just can’t match. Next, I acid adjust pineapple juice to the same acidity as lime juice and use that as the acid in the drink. We hit it with triple sec to boost the citrus notes in the drink. Add the Spiced Autumn Cider that I love to use in fall, and finish with ginger ale, not ginger beer. I want the flavor, not the heat. This is essentially a tiki drink for the Fall. What’s not to love?
