Not Tootsie

Better Baja Blast

This drink was designed to be an alcoholic Baja Blast. I think I nailed it.

Crafted for the Walton Arts Center’s showing of Tootsie, this drink was meant to replicate my favorite non-alcoholic drink. I used vodka to act as a neutral spirit. Blue curaçao lends itself to the color while also providing a sweet citrus note. Hpnotiq rounds out the island flavors by adding notes of passionfruit, grape, and orange.

For the juices, the dominant flavors in Baja Blast are pineapple and lime. Bitters keep the sweetness in check as we finish the drink with lemon-lime soda for effervescence without diluting the flavor.

Cocktail Instructions
