The Loverly (Ginger Peach Lemonade)

So this drink was created as a Summer time sipper and I later decided to utilize it for the Walton Arts Center’s run of My Fair Lady. It is a light, spicy, crisp, and fruity cocktail that really just goes down entirely too easily.

It ended up being a best seller and we had to make several large batches to keep up with the demand.

I used Pajarote ginger ponche to add a bit of spice to the cocktail. Since Pajarote is made with real ginger, it has gingerol in it as well. Gingerol is a close cousin of capsaicin and is the compound that makes ginger spicy. This helps to open up the tastebuds and allows you to perceive flavors that you might not taste as well, otherwise.

I used Pink Whitney Pink Lemonade Vodka in combination with lemon juice for the lemonade component, though you could just use vodka and lemonade as well if you can’t find that.

Finally, I used peach bitters and peach schnapps together. This allows for a bold and peachy flavor without allowing the peach schnapps to lend too much sweetness. Top with lemon-lime soda and you have a delicious drink that you should REALLY just make a pitcher of.
